This will be a 72 volt conversion, which means I’ll need to step down the voltage to 12 volts to avoid blowing the light bulbs. The stepdown is done with a DC-DC converter, which will reduce the voltage from the pack to something the original (actually rebuilt) wiring harness can handle.
Converters come in different amperage ratings, so I needed to calculate the max simultaneous usage. The higher the amperage the higher the cost, so I didn’t want to over buy.
I also use a “fully isolated” converter, which costs more but is much safer.
