I’m not a fan of the way the bodywork is attached to the Bella frame. In fact, the legshield isn’t technically attached at all! It’s only through the legshield connection to the floorboards, which are attached to rods that thread through pieces that are then secured to the frame is everything secured.
This leads to problems with clearance of the horncast to the front fender as there’s a 6mm hex bolt sticking up.

Rather than scratch my paint totally on this bolt I decided to make a spacer that acts as additional support for the leghsield. It mounts on top of the column lock and is held in place with a zip tie.

The spacer looks like this:

The spacer sits on the groove on top of the steering column lock. The front portion slides under the triangular rubber buffer the aligns the legshield to the steering column. The first bump sits under the bodywork. The groove allows it to be secured easily in a reversible fashion.
